Step 2: Log on
Go to www.google.com/ig. Log in if you have not done so already.
Step 3: Clean the slate
You are going to get rid of everything on this page. Uncheck all of the boxes on the setup page and click "Save". (You can always add stuff again later).
Click "Add Stuff."
In the search box, type, "Reader" and click "Search".
Click on the TOP entry for Google Reader "Add It Now."
Repeat the process, this time searching for "Calendar" and adding the official Google Calendar.
Later, you can come back and add other gadgets that you will find useful. For now, make sure that you can see both of these gadgets clearly displayed.
Step 4: Subscribe to feeds using Google Reader.
Your page should look like this. Click "Sign up for Google Reader."
You can look at this video later. Right now, you are going to subscribe to a blog and to a wiki, by clicking on the "Add a Subscription" button. Your teacher will have told you the address of the link you need for your class. Two are given here for Mr. Holden's Year 10 Maths Class:
